Macy and Jared met in 2012 at Tennessee Tech. Jared’s fraternity needed help putting together a cheerleading routine for a homecoming pep rally, so as a cheerleader, Macy and some friends volunteered to help. All it took was one cheer routine. Macy and Jared hit it off, and they never looked back.
Last year, Macy headed to visit Jared for his medical school’s white coat ceremony in Memphis, and on that visit, they began to talk about their future. Macy mentioned that she didn’t want an elaborate proposal - no scavenger hunts, poems, or friends hiding in the bushes. Little did she know, Jared had a ring in his pocket as she was speaking! As they headed to dinner that evening, Jared popped the question, simply and beautifully, just like she’d imagined. Of course, she said yes!
Macy and Jared chose Duck Pond Manor for its classic southern charm, and June 16th turned out to be a gorgeous summer day. Every detail of the wedding was a snapshot of a Tennessee summer, from the berry tones and greenery to the BBQ dinner. As they think about their wedding day now, their favorite moments were the quiet corners in the midst of wedding craziness. Their first look was a special moment for the two of them to share before walking down the aisle, and Macy’s grandfather stopped by before the ceremony to share some wisdom from his own 62 years of marriage. We loved capturing this gorgeous summer wedding for this sweet couple, and we wish them all the best in their new life together.
